What does Christmas look like in Namibia?

The holiday season is a very special time in Namibia with everyone participating in and enjoying the festive activities………..  Christmas is a joyous celebration.

It is the hottest time of year, so the quaint coastal towns are filled with festival goers enjoying the cool Atlantic breezes and festivities.

This is probably the only time the best “current” taxi music is substituted, and it is with Christmas Carols – everyone gets in the groove and sings along with their driver.  You may hear the festive song on the radio or in a shop or see people dancing to it.

It’s ‘Malwedhe’ aka collapsing jam!  Just don’t be surprised if you start moving to the beat.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hoUCH0BOq4

A Namibian Christmas is fun, and it is stylish for children to celebrate the festive season by dying their hair blonde, it is the only time they are allow to.

So, spread the cheer wherever you are and spend time with your family and friends.
