Boating Safaris & Mokoro Safaris
Okavango Delta – Botswana
Boating Safaris and Mokoro Safaris are the most amazing ways to visit the world-famous Okavango Delta Botswana and operate on the same principle as land based Mobile Camping Safari. The difference is that we use boats or mekoro instead of 4×4 vehicles.
Our small power boats are equipped for your comfort, with many having a removable canopy, fridge and all have safety equipment. A professional Safari Guide will drive you through a matrix of channels and lagoons in search of local wildlife including elephants, crocodiles, hippos and various species of antelopes, with the added excitement of predators that are occasionally seen on various islands and in proximity of camps. This is a raw back to nature experience that is a must on any bucket list.
All safaris are fully inclusive, and a backup team goes ahead of the Boat Safari to set up camp on one of the remote Okavango Delta islands. Our fully serviced safaris offer large tents with en-suites (equipped with a chemical toilet and bucket shower). Various accommodation configurations are available.
All basic camping Mokoro Safaris are based on the traditional Bayei method of travelling through the flood plains of the Okavango Delta. With your guide acting as your poler, chef and camp manager. During the days you’ll search for wildlife, enjoy island lunches under shady trees and stretch your legs during adrenalin pumping bush walks. Then in the evenings relax around the campfire and listen to stories of the bush with G&T in hand. These are truly unique experiences and a must for every adventurer – the serenity draws you in, making you feel at one with nature.
Our Boating Safaris are operated by premium Mobile Safari Operators and Multi-Award-Winning Safari Companies. They accommodate anyone, including the elderly and children 12 years and over, seeking an intimate wilderness experience, with some of our journeys catering for adventurers with physical disabilities.
