Botswana Okavango Delta

Privately Guided Safari

7 Days | 6 Nights

This safari explores the mystical waterways of the famous Okavango Delta and wildlife rich savannas during the summer months.  This is truly a magnificent time of the year; a ‘Green Desert’, with a profusion of colour and life.  It is the season when many species give birth with predators taking full advantage of the inexperienced young, and bird watching is exceptional due to the presence of the summer migrants.  Dramatic light, colour and subject matter provides excellent photographic opportunities, not to be missed.  It is a fantastic time of year to experience the South-Eastern corner of the world famous Okavango Delta.

This relaxing adventure travels through unique woodland habitats and the ancient floodplains of Chobe National Park to Gomoti Tented Camp located in the 6000ha Santawani Concession.  The entire area is game-rich with a diverse array of wildlife found closer to the Gomoti Channel such as buffalo, hippopotamus and zebra. The concession has a very healthy giraffe population and the large number of impala ensures great predator numbers. The dominant apex predators in the area are lion, leopard, spotted hyaena, cheetah and wild dog.  From here we fly to Xigera Premier Camp deep in the heart of the delta, on the lush tranquil Paradise Island.  The semi-permanent water allows for sublime mokoro and motorboat activities, and it is also a renowned birding area.  Don’t be surprised if you are visited by lion and the resident leopard although the area is famous for its reedbuck and the elusive sitatunga antelope.
